Founded in 1997, Impressia began with a focus on visual communication and has evolved into a specialized photography service for architects, interior designers, design + build firms, builders, developers, and other professionals whose work depends on strong visual representation.

Led by creative director Todd Ramsey, Impressia brings together experience in design, photography, and advertising to create architectural and interior photography that is considered, precise, and visually engaging. The work is designed to represent the project as it was intended to be seen while providing clients with finished images they can use to promote their work, communicate with prospective clients, support business development, and build a lasting visual library.

Do you photograph both commercial and residential projects?
Yes. My work includes both commercial and residential architecture photography, from individual interior spaces and custom homes to larger commercial developments and multi-location projects. How is architectural photography different from typical real estate photography?
There is some overlap, particularly with high-end residential properties, but the purpose and emphasis can be different. My work is focused on architecture, interior design, materials, details, spatial relationships, and the overall design of the project. The resulting images are intended to serve as professional visual assets for the people and businesses responsible for the work, rather than simply providing a large set of property listing photographs.

Do you photograph luxury homes and high-end interiors?
Yes. Luxury residences and high-end interiors are an important part of my residential work. I photograph custom homes, individual rooms, complete residences, pools, outdoor living areas, and other design-focused spaces for architects, builders, interior designers, and related professionals.

Do you photograph interiors, exteriors, and twilight?

Can you photograph large commercial projects or multiple locations?
Yes. I have photographed large commercial projects, multi-phase work, and projects involving multiple locations. The scope of an assignment can be tailored to the project and the images the client needs, whether the requirement is a focused collection or broader project coverage.

What do I receive from a photography project?
You receive professionally developed, high-resolution final images based on the scope and image collection established for your project. The specific number of final images and the associated licensing can be identified in the project-specific quote and license agreement.

What is Image Development?
Image Development is the process of refining each photograph into a finished professional image. This can include corrections and adjustments that address lighting, color, reflections, distractions, surfaces, shadows, or other conditions that affect how the architecture is represented. The amount of work varies from image to image. The objective is a photograph that is accurate, polished, visually clear, and appropriate for its intended use.

How do I receive my final images?
Final images are delivered through a secure online gallery. The gallery provides access to the finished files and makes it convenient to download, share, and distribute the images to the people who need them within the scope of the project license.

Are the final images high resolution?
Yes. Final images are delivered as high-resolution files suitable for professional marketing, websites, portfolios, presentations, publications, and print. The delivered images are finished files rather than unfinished camera originals.

How does image licensing work?
Photography is licensed for specific uses rather than automatically transferring copyright ownership. I retain copyright ownership of the photographs while granting the client the agreed rights to use the licensed images. The permitted uses are outlined in the license agreement provided for the project. Expanded licensing or a copyright buyout can be discussed when appropriate.

Who owns the copyright to the photographs?
Impressia retains copyright ownership of the photographs. Clients receive the rights specified in their license agreement, which allows the images to be used for the agreed purposes without transferring copyright ownership.

What do you need from me to schedule a project?
I typically need the project location, an understanding of what you need photographed, your preferred timing, and any important access or site considerations. For active construction sites, information about access, safety requirements, and project conditions is also helpful. From there, we can determine the appropriate scope and scheduling for the assignment.

How far do you travel?
I am based in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and regularly photograph projects throughout Texas. Projects outside the immediate area are welcome, and travel requirements are addressed as part of the project proposal.

What should I expect on the day of the shoot?
You can expect a professional and organized experience. I arrive prepared for the assignment, communicate about anything that affects the photography, and work respectfully around the people, schedules, and conditions at the project. My goal is to make the photography process straightforward for the client while producing the finished images the project requires.

Do I need to know exactly which photographs I want before contacting you?
No. It is helpful to explain what the project is, who the images are for, and how you expect to use them, but you do not need to know every photograph you need before contacting me. We can discuss the project and determine an appropriate scope based on what you are trying to accomplish.

Can the photography be used for marketing and award submissions?
Yes, when those uses are included in the applicable license.
